"No redundant drop"
"When the permanency of the healing is accepted in . . . consciousness, there is nothing left to fear"
Many times difficulties confronting mankind appear to be what are called chronic. Although this term is frequently applied to disease, it can be applied to unemployment, bad temper, or to any phase of error. Even though these claims of chronic error appear to be healed, the argument of reversal may tempt one to believe that the healing is not permanent and that the healing work will have to be done over again.
The truth is, however, that when erroneous belief has been replaced with the spiritual facts of existence in Christian Science, the healing that results cannot be reversed. Fear of a chronic problem and the suggestion of reversal are often the only errors that need correcting. Many times the sufferer finds that although Christian Science practitioners can help in doing the healing work, only the patient can accept the healing. When the permanency of the healing is accepted in the patient's consciousness, there is nothing left to fear.
Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, tells us that "Jesus never asked if disease were acute or chronic, and he never recommended attention to laws of health, never gave drugs, never prayed to know if God were willing that a man should live" (Science and Health, p. 369). Instead, Jesus healed both acute and chronic diseases with his knowledge of the Christ, Truth. His healings were permanent. It did not matter whether a person had been suffering from an infirmity for eighteen years, like the woman in the synagogue, or whether the discordant situation had just arisen. He healed all who were receptive.
