Stop Talking and Study the Lesson
[Of Special Interest to Children]
A Young boy usually went to sleep at night happily and quickly. But one night he was disturbed, in pain, and frightened. He said to his father, "Daddy, read me the lesson." The boy's father, feeling that such a small boy could not understand a Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly began to explain it to him as he read. The child said, "Please stop talking and read me the lesson."
His father complied. The boy soon became comfortable. In a little while he fell asleep. He slept well all night, and he awakened healed.
This experience illustrates a statement on page 6 of Mrs. Eddy's Message to The Mother Church for 1900, where our Leader writes, "A child can measurably understand Christian Science, for, through his simple faith and purity, he takes in its spiritual sense that puzzles the man."
