A practical lesson in the importance of steadfastness and conviction can be learned from an incident related in the fourteenth chapter of Matthew. Peter, beholding Christ Jesus walking on the sea, asked the master, "Bid me come unto thee on the water." Then Peter did walk on the water until the evidence of the senses—the boisterous wind—caused him to become afraid. Beginning to sink, he cried to Jesus, "Lord, save me." Then "Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"
