For several years I have worked...
For several years I have worked a farm single-handed, and Christian Science has been a wonderful help to me.
One day, when running after some young cattle, I felt a very sharp pain in one leg and could walk only with extreme difficulty. That evening I turned to God and studied prayerfully to clear my thought, endeavoring to realize that the state of my leg depended on the state of my thought. I knew that there is only one Mind, God, and that man, His idea, is spiritual and harmonious.
In the morning I was disappointed to find that the leg still troubled me. I had been wearing rubber boots without socks, and I thought I would put a sock on to keep the foot and leg warm. Then I considered that the sock would be a material remedy; so I decided against it. I forgot the leg after that until I was walking up the fields to inspect the flock of sheep; then I realized I was walking quite freely. The leg was normal again.
