In the first chapter of Genesis we read (verse 31), "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." I owe a debt of gratitude to God for Mrs. Eddy, the Leader of the Christian Science movement, and for her unselfish work in proving the nothingness of evil and the allness of good.
Since my first healing in Christian Science, which took place when I was thirteen years of age, I have had no other physician. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 329), "We must prove our faith by demonstration." This I have sincerely tried to do; and when unable to make the demonstration through my own understanding, I have had the aid of a consecrated practitioner, for which I am very grateful.
Several years ago, when I got up one morning, I had a very uncomfortable feeling in the left side of my neck. But as the day progressed the pain lessened somewhat, and I busied myself with household duties instead of doing prayerful work about the condition. When I lay down that night, however, the pain became almost unbearable; so I began to earnestly declare the truth which we are taught in Christian Science.
