Youth Is "the hope of our race"
On page 9 of "Pulpit and Press" our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, declares, "Ah, children, you are the bulwarks of freedom, the cement of society, the hope of our race!"
A second program planned by the inspirational committee of a church in Louisville, Kentucky, was participated in mainly by the young members of the church; some were still in Sunday School, and others were college students recently graduated from the Sunday School. The church membership, the Sunday School, and regular attendants of the church were cordially invited by letter to attend.
The opening readings were prepared and read by a college student; a number of girls and boys from the Sunday School served as ushers, and one of them acted as precentor. Several papers were written by these younger members and were shared at the meeting. These papers had been read and approved by the inspirational committee, with few changes needed.
