Right thinking and praying, as we are taught in Christian Science, bring the healing and strength we need. About three years ago I injured my right shoulder. At once I mentally turned to God for help. These words of Mrs. Eddy came to my thought: "Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man" (Science and Health, p. 393).

My arm hung at my side, and I realized I needed help; so I called a practitioner, who started immediately to give me Christian Science treatment. He quoted the above passage to me, and I told him that it had already come to my thought and that I was using it. We declared together spiritual truths of man's being.

All my waking moments during the next two or three days I applied the truth, declaring God's allness and presence. The pain was intense most of the time, but I continued to study the Bible, together with Science and Health, and to pray. On the afternoon of the second day it came to me to sing. Error does not like one to sing and rejoice. I sang the Lord's Prayer through. I gloried in the strength that I was gaining from singing and was greatly benefited. On the afternoon of the third day I was healed and able to go about my usual activities in a normal way.
