In Psalm 119 we read (verse 18)...
In Psalm 119 we read (verse 18), "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law." The testimonies of healing in our periodicals certainly do open our eyes to the healing power of the truth when it is honestly and lovingly applied as we are taught to apply it in Christian Science. Now I should like to contribute my testimony.
My introduction to Science was truly wonderful. For many years the social habits in our home and among our friends were firmly established; our lives revolved around the cocktail hour. Although I was dissatisfied with this way of life, I knew of no other, and I did not know where to turn for help. A nervous breakdown followed. I was taken to a hospital, and when nothing was found physically wrong with me, I was put into a rest home.
Being very unhappy there, I was finally taken to our summer home by the ocean, which I loved. A daughter gave up her work to take care of me. It was while I was there that a friend sent me a copy of the Sentinel with a loving note of explanation about Christian Science and a copy of the Quarterly, in which is outlined the weekly Lesson-Sermon for us to study. That was indeed the cup of cold water I had been waiting for.
