Scientific Mental Practice

Jesus ' conversations with those he cured set for us an example, a standard for scientific mental practice. Such statements as, "Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house" (Luke 5:24), "Hold thy peace, and come out of him" (Luke 4:35), "Maid, arise" (Luke 8:54). were the exact opposite of "Now start from the beginning, and tell me all about it. "

Conscious of God, divine Mind, as substance and of man as God's perfect manifestation, Jesus detected and rejected as false any claim of an imperfect mentality. And he healed immediately.

Christian Science teaches Jesus' method. It reveals disease as mental, not physical, because matter, in which disease seems to occur, is but a claim of substance apart from Mind, an illusion, a false mentality. This claim appears in many mental forms, and scientific practice requires detection of the claim. Since a false claim can only be detected in the light of Truth, the detection makes possible its prompt rejection.
