I am very grateful for the healing...

I am very grateful for the healing and protecting power of Christian Science. I have been a student of Science for many years, and whenever there has been a need for help, it has come almost immediately.

After leaving a friend's apartment one day, I found it necessary to use the stairway because the elevator was being repaired. The hallway was dimly lighted, and when I got about halfway down the stairs, I lost my footing and fell, cutting my head on a sharp metal edge. I was severely hurt, and the cut was bleeding; but I picked myself up and regained a measure of poise after realizing the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement on page 424 of Science and Health, "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection."

I returned to my friend's apartment, where together we declared the truth of being until I had recovered sufficiently for my friend's husband to drive me to my home. However, the bleeding continued. I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help, and a Christian Science nurse visited me a number of times to dress the wound. The healing was not immediate; but at no time was there the slightest pain, and I learned a wonderful lesson in patience.
