Christian Science was introduced to me by a dear neighbor who was a student of this religion. She gave me a copy of the Sentinel. The testimonies of healing contained in it interested me because I was suffering from severe headaches for which I had been unable to find a remedy. Reading that God heals all diseases gave me hope that I too could be healed.

I attended services in a Church of Christ, Scientist, regularly and studied the Bible Lessons, found in the Quarterly. I had proof that God does heal. As my thinking became more spiritual, fear was lessened and a false sense of responsibility was overcome. My thinking was awakened from this false sense as I read from Mrs. Eddy's Message to The Mother Church for 1900 (p. 8): "Usefulness is doing rightly by yourself and others. We lose a percentage due to our activity when doing the work that belongs to another."

A great feeling of compassion came over me while I was reading "The Life of Mary Baker Eddy" by Sibyl Wilbur. I realized how much our Leader had gone through to discover and found Christian Science. When I had finished reading it, the headaches had completely disappeared, and they have not returned. This occurred over forty years ago.
