I wish to express my gratitude...

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science. I was reared in Science, but I did not begin to understand and appreciate its truths, which Mrs. Eddy has given us, until after I was married and had moved to another city. Before this I had depended on my parents, on Sunday School teachers, and on practitioners to do prayerful work for me. Now I found that I too had to work with the truths I had learned in order to prove them. It has been a joyous work, and my husband and I have had many wonderful experiences as a result of depending completely on God.

During the year my husband was in the armed services and the two years he was completing his college course, we relied wholeheartedly upon God, knowing that the Christ, Truth, goes before us and prepares the way for the righteous adjustment of all our affairs. As Mrs. Eddy says in the textbook, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494). We found apartments to stay in whenever we had to move, and all our needs were met.

When the elder of our sons was two years old he developed a growth under his chin. We asked a practitioner to pray for him. The lump moved to the side of the child's neck, and the condition became aggravated, causing him pain. My husband and I prayed along with the practitioner. We read and studied Science and Health as I rocked our son.
