"One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts." sang the Psalmist (Ps. 145:4). It is a privilege to bear witness to the healing and redemptive power of Christian Science in three generations of my family and to express deep love and gratitude for Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this vital religion.

Christian Science came into our home in 1894 through the healing of what the doctors said was an incurable disease from which my grandmother suffered. Four months after Christian Science treatment was begun she was completely healed and laid aside her crutches. The disease did not return, and she lived many years after her healing. Simultaneously, my mother embraced the teachings of Science, and they became the standard of living in our home. I shall always be grateful to God for the spiritual truths I learned at my mother's knee and for her steadfast devotion to the Cause of Christian Science for more than half a century.

About three years ago, while serving as First Reader in a branch church, I began to suffer a creeping paralysis which started at the hips and spread down to my legs and feet. Through the consecrated prayers of a Christian Science practitioner the condition was entirely healed within a month. During this time it was never necessary for me to be away from my post, and although it was difficult for me to walk, the condition was not noticeable to the congregation. At the same time I was healed of a sense of grief and separation over the loss of a loved member of my family.
