Take up this proverb (Isa. 14:4)

The Hebrew word mashal (proverb) was used in a variety of senses, including "parable; similitude; wise saying"; or a "prophetic figurative discourse," as in the present context. The verb nasa' (take up) was often used with mashal, as here, to mean "to utter."
