Larry Finds Healing in the Commandments

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Larry has learned many truths of God and of man in His image and likeness. His teacher in the Christian Science Sunday School has told the class many Bible stories, including the one about Moses, the great Hebrew leader.

Larry likes to hear about Moses, who led the children of Israel out of Egypt and who was chosen by God to make a record of the Ten Commandments for their guidance and protection. Larry has learned that when the children of Israel were obedient to these Commandments, their way was happy and good; but when they disobeyed them, they found themselves in trouble.

Larry's teacher once read to the class Mrs. Eddy's definition of "children of Israel," found in Science and Health. It reads: "The representatives of Soul, not corporeal sense; the offspring of Spirit, who, having wrestled with error, sin, and sense, are governed by divine Science; some of the ideas of God beheld as men, casting out error and healing the sick; Christ's offspring" (p. 583).
