As each day unfolds I become more and more grateful for Christian Science, and I should like to tell of several healings I have experienced through the application and understanding of this wonderful truth.

One was that of a burn on my hand. While I was preparing a meal for my family, I picked up the frying pan with my bare hand. The handle had become very hot, and for a few moments I suffered great pain. But then I remembered Mrs. Eddy's statement from Science and Health (p. 381), "We cannot in reality suffer from breaking anything except a moral or spiritual law." I felt that in preparing the meal I was not breaking a moral or spiritual law.

I also declared that there are no accidents in divine Mind, that God, who made all things and called them good, is the only cause, and that therefore man can experience no bad or painful effects. Then I repeated "the scientific statement of being," which includes the words, "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness" (ibid., p. 468), and by that time the pain was entirely gone. I had kept on preparing the meal while declaring these truths.
