I know that Christian Science heals quickly and effectively, and I should like to relate a recent experience which proved this. When I was doing the morning housework, I fell headlong, striking my nose on a sharp corner of the footboard of the bed. The bleeding which started was alarming, and the thought came to me that I could not last long if it continued. Then I realized that I must reverse my thinking. I declared that God is man's Life and his strength. I declared also that God created the universe, including man, that He guides, governs, and controls all; so there can be no inaction and no overaction. Very soon the bleeding stopped enough for me to use the telephone.

I called a Christian Science practitioner, and prayerful help was readily given to me. I told her that it looked as though my nose were broken and that I was afraid I would be disfigured. She assured me that, as Mrs. Eddy states on page 423 of Science and Health, "Bones have only the substance of thought which forms them." She also assured me of the truth which is demonstrable in all human affairs, that everything in God's spiritual universe is always in its right place and that God is ever mindful of man, His beloved son.

That afternoon I could not read, but I could remember and repeat many truths from the Bible and from Science and Health and the other writings of Mrs. Eddy. The Golden Text from the current Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly was a great comfort. It read (Ps. 100:5), "The Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."
