The Fallacy of Time

"With the coming of Christian Science, an enlightened view of time and eternity has emerged "

There never has been an instant when God was less than God. God, the All-in-all, is eternal and fills all space. Acceptance of these facts is the answer to every temptation to believe in the power of time or of material circumstances to interfere with good. There has never been a moment when man, the image and likeness of God, was less than man, and neither time nor circumstance can alter this forever fact.

Time is mortal. It consists of a humanly circumscribed misconception of permanence or accomplishment. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, in the Christian Science textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," defines "time." The definition reads in part (p. 595): "Mortal measurements; limits, in which are summed up all human acts, thoughts, beliefs, opinions, knowledge; matter; error."

With the coming of Christian Science, an enlightened view of time and eternity has emerged. False opinion is giving place to the understanding of the limitless permanence of the everlasting now. Thought has been lifted above solar measurements, which indicate merely the passing of days, seasons, years. A new day has dawned. Related as it is to human progress, it means a better, a brighter day.
