The Bright and Safe Path
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Billy lived in Kansas in a stone house on a farm. On Sunday he and his family would drive twenty miles to town to attend the Christian Science church. Billy went to the Sunday School.
One Sunday morning Billy learned that God is Love and that God loves His children so deeply and completely that this love protects them at all times. Billy also learned that whatever is bad was never made by God because God, being Love, can make only what is good.
Billy's Sunday School teacher explained that we live under God's protecting care and that we must thank God for His protection by loving Him with all our heart, as Jesus taught us to do. Billy's teacher also read aloud from the Bible this commandment that Jesus said was the "great"' one: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind" (Matt.22:37).
