The joy that comes to us through an ever-growing understanding of the truth taught in Christian Science is very precious, and I wish to express my gratitude for the many healings that my family and I have had by relying solely upon God. This religion was presented to my family before I was born, and I have had the privilege of its teachings from my earliest days and of attendance in Christian Science Sunday Schools whenever possible.

As a child I was instantaneously healed of measles and was protected in many other instances from contagion. Another healing during my school days was that of appendicitis, and I have never had a return of this condition. The unfoldment of an understanding of the loving fatherhood of God comforted me after the passing on of my father. It helped me to know that the deep love between us had not ended, because as a quality of God, love is eternal, uninterrupted, and ever present.

I am especially grateful for the understanding that has come to me of the ever-presence of God, Love, and for the knowledge that I can never for an instant be separated from His presence and care. Several years ago I left the country of my birth and came to live in the United States. Shortly before I left for my new home, a large boil appeared on my face, and despite the consecrated work of a Christian Science practitioner, the condition became worse, and I was unable to eat, sleep, or leave my bed. My mother read to me many statements of Truth from the writings of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and I was able to repeat silently with my mother the words of much-loved hymns.
