"EASTER GLOWS WITH GRATITUDE"

The glory of Easter is perennial, continually breaking upon the enlightened thought with the resurrective message of Life's eternality. The darkened, traditional sense of Easter is powerless to drape this glad season in the trappings of grief and death. The triumph of Love overcoming hatred is illuming the centuries with the promise of individual victory over false evidences of mortality.

Article XVII, Section 2, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy reads: "In the United States there shall be no special observances, festivities, nor gifts at the Easter season by members of The Mother Church. Gratitude and love should abide in every heart each day of all the years. Those sacred words of our beloved Master, 'Let the dead bury their dead,' and 'Follow thou me,' appeal to daily Christian endeavors for the living whereby to exemplify our risen Lord."

Willingness to leave the lifeless formality of traditional observances and pursue the higher Christ-idea evolves a steadily increasing gratitude for the true meaning of Easter. Christian Science has brought to light the deeper meaning of the resurrection as a daily, hourly rising above the demands of materiality to a quickening perception of the ever-presence of infinite Life as God and to the utilization of every divine possibility for good.
