MAN HAS ONLY TRUE CONSCIOUSNESS

True consciousness, not matter, Christian Science affirms, constitutes man, his health, his very life or being. Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Unity of Good" (p. 24): "All consciousness is Mind; and Mind is God,—an infinite, and not a finite consciousness. This consciousness is reflected in individual consciousness, or man, whose source is infinite Mind. There is no really finite mind, no finite consciousness."

There is no outside to infinite consciousness. Since God is Mind, Truth, and is All, He must be the source of and include all consciousness and truth. Consequently, there can be no power, presence, or consciousness apart from God.

Spiritual man, the image and likeness of God, can have no consciousness or being apart from God, his creator. Part of the definition of man which Mrs. Eddy gives in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" reads (p. 591), "The full representation of Mind." Man, "the full representation of Mind," is the perfect expression of true Mind, the reflection of Truth, not made of the dust of the ground.
