WRITING FOR THE PERIODICALS
Isaiah said (52:7), "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!"
How wise Mary Baker Eddy was to establish the Christian Science periodicals for the bringing of good tidings, the message of the Christ, Truth, and the publishing of peace and salvation! As Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy knew the importance of the printed word as a missionary that would carry the message of Truth to every corner of the world. Through divine inspiration she was guided to provide a weekly, a monthly, and a quarterly periodical as well as a daily newspaper in English and also a periodical which is now published in several languages other than English.
The providing of articles and testimonies for The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, The Herald of Christian Science, and the religious article in The Christian Science Monitor depends entirely upon the members of The Mother Church. The importance of submitting articles for publication, as well as the financial and metaphysical support of the periodicals, cannot be overemphasized.
