Many difficult and discordant...
Many difficult and discordant situations and conditions have been harmoniously resolved for me through the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science. In one instance, the recognition and application of the fact that man reflects the true understanding of God, evidenced in strength, harmony, activity, and firmness, healed a discordant foot and ankle trouble, and there has been no return of the difficulty.
On another occasion, I accidentally grasped a wasps' nest with my bare hands. When I felt the stings, a statement of truth which is found in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, came to my thought. It reads as follows (p. 514): "All of God's creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible."
I held to this thought; then I grabbed a pillow which was in the bottom of the boat in which I was rowing and put it on my head. Then I pulled away from the tree containing the wasps' nest. Coincidentally, calmness prevailed, without a hint of resentment, anger, or fear, nor had I any thought of retaliation. I saw very clearly that there was no genuine atmosphere in which error could operate.
