THE PROMISE STANDS
Psalm 139:7-12
The promise stands that where I am
The Father is eternally.
And shall I fear the forward steps,
Though they should lead to Calvary?
The promise stands that no dark shade
Shall overwhelm my feeble light,
That night itself shall shine as day
At noontide's radiant height.
The promise stands that God's right hand
Shall hold me safe from fear's alarms,
That no far reach of space can lie
Beyond His all-embracing arms.
The promise stands, and here stand I,
Untouched by evil's net or snare,
Protected, loved, and undefiled,
Secure within my Father's care.
