CHRISTIAN SCIENCE OVERCOMES CRIME
The magnitude of God's love is capable of destroying every human error; but Christian Science, the Science of Mind, needs to be understood if that healing love is to reach the criminal mind and make malefactors subordinate to God, the divine Principle of man.
According to this Science, which was revealed to Mary Baker Eddy, the divine order is eternal and changeless. In it God is All, and His creation is made up of spiritual ideas, which are governed by His will. In the realm of the spiritually real there is no vestige of insubordination, no desire or ability brazenly to flaunt disobedience to the divine will, and no possibility of contradicting the divine order which is eternally established by Mind.
Only in the mortal sense of being does crime claim to appear in mutinous defiance of common decency and consideration for law. The Christian Scientist helps to destroy the criminal tendencies of mortals whenever he separates man's identity from the carnal, or mortal, mind and realizes the perfect obedience of the children of God made in His likeness. The cure for crime is scientific Christianity, which insists upon the sinlessness of real identity. To carry the logic of scientific Christianity to its conclusion, one must recognize that since God is All-in-all, insubordination to the Supreme Ruler is an illusion, a mortal dream that needs to be dispelled by reality, or the truth of being.
