Twenty-six years ago, when my husband was in the hospital for surgery, Christian Science was presented to me by a neighbor. I myself had always been sickly and had spent several days each week in bed. The neighbor invited me to a Christian Science lecture, and I accepted because of the many lovely things she had done for me; but inwardly I was resisting the invitation. Thus I did not glean from the lecture its spiritual import.

However, the lecture bore fruit, because five years later I sought Christian Science again without further invitation. At this time I was on a rigid diet, suffering from gall bladder trouble.

I passed a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, each time I went downtown, and one day I decided I would go to the service. Soon after that first service, my husband was transferred to another city, and in packing I threw away the countless bottles of medicine. I purchased the Bible, the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and a Christian Science Quarterly and began to study earnestly. As a result of my study I was healed of the gall bladder trouble.
