From the time a dear friend introduced me to Christian Science over twenty-five years ago, there have been many healings in our family. The first ones stand out the most vividly in my memory. With four children in the family, we had many opportunities to use Christian Science. There were healings of earache, toothache, boils, eczema, and broken bones.

Although these physical healings were wonderful to us, I think the release from worry and frustration was the most impressive and helpful blessing to me. During the days of the depression of the 1930's, we were very limited financially, but because of the understanding I was gaining through my study of Christian Science, we were never in actual want. As I look back on those days, there always seemed to be a way to meet the need. As a family we all expressed much harmony, and a loving relationship has continued through the years; for this, I am very grateful.

At one time I was taken ill with a lung condition. A practitioner was called, and I was removed to the house of a Christian Science nurse, who was very attentive to my every need. Much time was spent reading the Bible and the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The practitioner called every day. In four days I was able to sit up in a chair, and in two weeks I was healed and back in my home again and doing my household tasks as usual.
