A NEWSBOY PROVES GOD'S ALLNESS

Like many boys nearing their teens, Doug was eager to have a daily newspaper route. As soon as he was old enough, he applied at delivery branches in his neighborhood and asked some of the older newsboys he knew if they would sell him a route.

But for many months there were no openings. It was hard not to feel discouraged, and he was tempted to believe that influence with a branch manager or a senior newsboy might help.

However, because he was a Christian Scientist, Doug knew that the right way was to turn to God. He had learned at home and in the Christian Science Sunday School that there is just one God, one power, which governs all. He also knew that God is divine Mind and that man is His reflection. So he realized that if he really understood and obeyed the First Commandment (Ex. 20:3), "Thou shalt have no other gods before me," he could not at the same time believe in or fear the discords suggested by mortal mind.
