THE PERFECT WORK OF PATIENCE
"Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept. Patience must 'have her perfect work," ' writes our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, on page 454 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Thus we see that the quality of patience is tied in with the fruition of our work in Christian Science.
In today's hustle and bustle the idea of patience is often pushed aside as we try to rush through to completion a pet project or some other task. It is little wonder that this act of ignoring patience not only delays the fruition of our work, but may even nullify our fondest hopes.
When we stop to realize that the antonym of patience is the mortal mind belief of impatience and that impatience often results in resistance to good, we can readily see that the failure to cultivate this very necessary quality of patience opens the door to mortal mind's opposition to the operation of Truth.
