I wish to give thanks to God for...
I wish to give thanks to God for bringing me to Christian Science, which in turn has brought me nearer to Him than I ever knew I could be.
Five years ago I was confined to bed. I could not even sit up. A doctor was called in and told my wife that there was nothing that could be done for me. I then asked my wife to call a Christian Science practitioner. Through her work and the loving co-operation of my wife, God soon gave me the strength to be up and around.
These passages from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy were particularly helpful in bringing about the healing: "Spirit's senses are without pain, and they are forever at peace. Nothing can hide from them the harmony of all things and the might and permanence of Truth" (pp. 214, 215); and, "The recuperative action of the system, when mentally sustained by Truth, goes on naturally" (p. 447).
