NO INTERPOSITION BETWEEN GOD AND MAN
Christian Science teaches that nothing can happen to man except that which is authorized by God. And because each individual has direct access to God, he can enjoy His protection. Starting with a few simple truths, we can logically explain why this is so.
In the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 286), "In the Saxon and twenty other tongues good is the term for God." And she also tells us (p. 339), "Since God is All, there is no room for His unlikeness." Further on, onpage 591, she describes man as "the compound idea of infinite Spirit; the spiritual image and likeness of God; the full representation of Mind."
Then we may reason that if God is infinite good, All, and man is His idea, it necessarily follows that man can incorporate no ideas other than those which come from God—good ideas. Any idea that reaches man must first be approved by Mind, God. Harmony, peace, control, dominion, and direction are examples of ideas which Mind approves.
