Many years ago Christian Science...
Many years ago Christian Science was presented to me by a friend. However, at that time I could not see that it held anything for me. In 1938 I contracted tuberculosis. After I had been confined to a hospital and a sanatorium for two years and had received the best medical aid, the condition became so serious that my life was despaired of.
At that point the friend who presented Christian Science to me previously came to me again. I then consented to have a Christian Science practitioner visit me. I cannot remember exactly what she said, but I do remember that new light dawned.
One day I had an attack that resulted in a loss of strength and of all control of the body. I almost lapsed into unconsciousness. From where I lay I could look out of my window and see the sky. I had always thought God was in the heavens. I saw the peace, calm, and beauty, which I drank in, and I realized that, as the practitioner had told me, this was but a symbol of the peace and quiet that God provides for us right where we are.
