Our family has had many wonderful...

Our family has had many wonderful healings through the study and application of Christian Science. Among them are those of fever, inflammatory rheumatism, influenza, and the effect of burns.

One day while I was preparing dinner, some very hot fat spattered over my hand. I experienced great pain, and momentarily it was difficult for me to think clearly. However, in a short time I realized that a spiritual idea, made in God's own likeness, could not be found in or harmed by any material condition. In a few moments the pain ceased, and within a day or two there was no trace of a burn.

I should also like to tell of another healing. I had been appointed to serve as an usher in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. The first time I was to serve was at a Thanksgiving Day service. The night before, however, I found that my husband was experiencing a great deal of pain in his leg. It was difficult for him to lie down or to walk. We worked most of the night, affirming that God and His perfect creation are all that really exist, but the error did not yield. We then asked for the help of a Christian Science practitioner.

I mentioned to the practitioner that I was to serve as usher at the Thanksgiving Day service, but that I felt I should stay with my husband. The practitioner told me that I could go about my Father's business and leave my dear one in God's loving care. This I did, and I left home with the greatest sense of peace.

As I took my station in the lower foyer, I silently expressed gratitude for each one who entered. As thoughts of self were put aside and while I was affirming the power of God's healing Word for all mankind, my husband walked into the church, and in a short time he was entirely free. This proved to me that when we leave our loved ones in God's care, we can be free from fear and concern for them.

I had the happy privilege of attending the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church in 1949. This experience awakened my thought to the importance of class instruction. Words cannot express my gratitude for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who so unselfishly gave us this wonderful truth. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. I am thankful too for our annual association meetings. I pray each day that I may in some way be able to help others as I have been helped. Truly God is good.—(Mrs.) Helen Conant, Chicago, Illinois.
