Announcing Three New Bindings in Red and Green Sturdite

The Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy take pleasure in announcing the binding of three additional books in red and in green Sturdite to match editions of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" published in 1958. Sturdite is cloth coated with plastic to give it durability and is easily kept clean with a damp cloth.

These three books are offered at the following low costs: Prose Works (thumb-indexed) at $8.50; the Church Manual at $1.50, and A Complete Concordance at $7.50.

The matching Bibles in red and in green Sturdite, sold by The Christian Science Publishing Society, are available in all Christian Science Reading Rooms.

Prose Works, the Church Manual, A Complete Concordance, and Science and Health in red or green Sturdite may also be purchased at Reading Rooms throughout the world or will be sent postpaid by Charles Henry Gabriel, Publishers' Agent, One Norway Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.

Our Leader's Counsel Regarding Church Membership

In writing to a branch church regarding its dedication, Mary Baker Eddy lovingly counseled, "May God's little ones cluster around this rock-ribbed church like tender nestlings in the crannies of the rocks, and preen their thoughts for upward flight" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 186). This loving counsel is for all time and is extended to earnest students of Christian Science throughout the world.

Twice each year applicants who are ready for membership in The Mother Church are admitted by The Christian Science Board of Directors in accordance with the requirements of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy.

The closing date for the receipt of applications for the next admission of members is May 4, 1959.

Application blanks and information concerning membership maybe obtained at Christian Science Reading Rooms, from practitioners listed in The Christian Science Journal, or from clerks of branch churches and societies. Applications may also be obtained from Gordon V. Comer, Clerk, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.

Fund for Armed Services Activities

The thousands of Christian Scientists in the armed services, who are serving their respective countries throughout the world, are being helped by The Mother Church through the Fund for Armed Services Activities.

Christian Science Ministers are paid from this Fund. These workers conduct Christian Science services, give treatments, and visit and work with those in Veterans Hospitals who seek and rely wholly on Christian Science for healing. They contact the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who indicate Christian Science as their religious preference, giving them Service Edition sets of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and, in the case of young recruits, helping them to adjust to their military experience. Quantities of authorized Christian Science literature are distributed among the Armed Forces personnel.

The scope of the work is great, for The Mother Church has Christian Science Ministers and field workers placed in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, Japan, Korea, and other countries. During the past year, approximately $300,000 was expended to carry on this work.

Contributions are welcome and should be sent to the Treasurer, Roy Garrett Watson, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.

Nurses Training Course

Qualified Christian Scientists who intend to devote themselves to the profession of Christian Science nursing may apply for training at either of the Sanatoriums of the Christian Science Benevolent Association. Those who complete this course are eligible to serve as nurses in the Field, in nursing homes, and in visiting nurse services, as well as in the Sanatoriums.

Address inquiries to Personnel Department, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.
