DEMONSTRATING THE UNREALITY OF EVIL
The evidence of evil in the world sometimes seems overwhelming. Yet, in spite of this evidence, Christian Science declares that evil, or error, and its effects—human discord—are unreal. Because of evil's seeming reality, mankind has sought to explain the origin of it, and some have claimed that God is the creator of it or at least permits it to exist. But Christian Science enables the individual to prove that because evil is unreal, it has no origin and no power.
To demonstrate the unreality of evil and its effects and thus to prove that they have no origin, we must hold clearly in thought the fundamental facts of Christian Science, that God, Spirit, is the only creator and that He is one and All; that He is omnipresent, omnipotent good.
Anyone who willingly accepts these truths comes logically to the conclusion that God's creation is whole and complete, perfect and spiritual, and that evil is therefore nothing, without presence, reality, origin, cause, or effect.
