It has long been my sincere desire to share some of the healings we have experienced in our family. In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Many times we have proved this statement to be true.

Seven years ago our son, who was then a junior high school student, dropped a seventy-five pound weight on his foot. He immediately came home and told me what had happened. I asked him not to look at the foot, but to know the unreality of the belief that there was sensation in matter. He sat in a chair and repeated aloud all the scientific healing thoughts that came to him. He was at that time a pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School and so had learned how to apply the truth.

When I looked at the foot, I became frightened, for the big toe was severely injured. I called a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful help. She assured me that we were taking the right steps in firmly denying the evidence of the senses and in declaring the perfection of God and man. She then said she would help us to eliminate fear. I washed the foot, wrapped a towel around it, and helped our son to bed. The pain stopped, and he fell asleep.
