In Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy we read (p. 162), "Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies." How well I know the truth of this statement! For years I had been ill, suffering from weak lungs and a heart condition, and a good part of my time was spent in bed.

At one time, while I was visiting in the home of my parents, the suffering became very acute. My sister, who had had help in Christian Science, asked if she should call a medical doctor or a Christian Science practitioner. I was not interested in calling either, for my faith had really been shaken by this time. However, I agreed to let her call a practitioner, who said she would do prayerful work for me and told us to read certain passages from the Bible and from Science and Health. To please my sister, I listened to the reading.

The practitioner worked for me for about three days, and I was completely healed. I have never again resorted to material means, and I have had such a wonderful release from bondage. That was eight years ago, and there has been no return of the difficulty.
