BEARING TRUE WITNESS
We are constantly bearing witness to something, giving silent or audible testimony of what we are seeing manifested by ourselves or by others. This testimony is sometimes good and sometimes not good, depending on whether it is based on spiritual sense or material sense.
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes (p. 298), "What is termed material sense can report only a mortal temporary sense of things, whereas spiritual sense can bear witness only to Truth."
When we learn in Christian Science that man is really a spiritual idea, the perfect reflection of Spirit, God, then we shall bear proper witness to what we see in ourselves or in our fellow men. We shall see our neighbor to be actually the man of God's creating, expressing only such God-given qualities as perfection, love, health, harmony, peace, happiness, and completeness.
