In the Bible we read (Matt. 6:24): "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
For many years, although I used alcohol, I dabbled in Christian Science. I would turn to first one and then the other as a means of getting through my days. Consequently, in attempting to serve God and mammon, I lost interest in my business, my friends, and my town. My sense of home was inharmonious. I knew there had to be a change.
It was at this point that my husband was transferred to another state. Despite the fact that I had to sell a business that I had maintained for twenty-three years, I was happy and able to do so.
