The study and application of the truths of Christian Science in conjunction with those in the Bible have been sustaining and redeeming influences in my life. For some years I had taken a vacillating attitude toward Christian Science. My life during this period seemed to be a series of unhappy experiences.

My health and family relationships were in jeopardy when a friend suggested that I have a talk with a practitioner. I was shown that I could not expect a harmonious existence while swinging like a pendulum between material and spiritual thinking. Mary Baker Eddy makes this clear in Science and Health, where she says (p. 167), "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized."

As I began to reject the human theories regarding man and to replace them with the spiritual facts given in Genesis in these words (1:27), "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him," my life began to reflect God-given dominion.
