GOD'S JOYOUS SONS

Christian Science reveals that joy is an ever-present and eternal quality of God, divine Mind, and that the real man of God's creating perpetually expresses joy, just as he perpetually expresses divine Truth, Love, and Life. Therefore the expression of universal joy, resting on divine law, is a demand of God, divine Principle.

The student of Christian Science sings out with thanksgiving that man's joy rests forever in God and God alone. He begins to comprehend the divine fact that ever since the "foundations of the earth" were laid and "the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy" (Job 38:4, 7), this joy, emanating solely from and sustained by God, has been an element of man's true being.

The joyous nature of man's real selfhood was proved by the Master, Christ Jesus. On page 84 of "Miscellaneous Writings," Mary Baker Eddy says, "The 'man of sorrows' knew that the man of joys, his spiritual self, or Christ, was the Son of God."
