My first testimony was published...

My first testimony was published in The Christian Science journal for January, 1930. Out of gratitude I am inspired to share the many blessings which have come to me since then, and also to express grateful thanks for the privilege of having been a guest at the Christian Science Benevolent Association, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.

A healing for which I am especially grateful is that of a severe obstruction in my throat, which continued for several months. During this time I studied and prayed earnestly to gain more understanding of God and of my true relationship to Him. Finally it became clear to me that I had been harboring a sense of resentment toward a relative, believing that he was responsible for obstructing my growth in Science. As I replaced these erroneous thoughts with love and compassion, the throat difficulty vanished entirely, leaving me with a greater love for all mankind.

Another healing, which took place in a Christian Science Reading Room, was that of a dislocated knee. In this quiet and peaceful atmosphere my thought was spiritually uplifted, and the prayerful contemplation of this statement from the Bible (Isa. 35:6), "Then shall the lame man leap as an hart," resulted in an immediate healing. Through this healing a young woman who was employed in a nearby office was led to investigate Christian Science.
