Through membership in The Mother Church and a branch church and through the daily study of the Bible Lessons from the Christian Science Quarterly, I have found the way to harmonious living. I first became interested in Christian Science when several physicians gave me no hope for the recovery of our ten-year-old daughter from pernicious anemia. She was bedfast at the time.

One day, when the symptoms were very alarming, I ran to see my neighbor, who was a Christian Scientist. She came to our daughter's bedside, kneeled down, and began to repeat the Lord's Prayer. I left the room and do not know what else took place, but the child was healed while the neighbor was praying for her. There was no more dieting. She gained strength daily; and to the surprise of her friends, she was back in school within two weeks' time.

In spite of this healing, it was not until five years later that I became a student of Christian Science. I had become ill with what had been diagnosed as an incurable condition. At the same time, our thirteen-year-old son was daily growing worse with bronchial asthma. The help of a Christian Science practitioner was sought, and one morning I sat at my desk and wrote out "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Due to my darkened thought, this took the entire morning. When I had finished, however, I felt stronger mentally and more ready to study and apply the truths of Christian Science.

The two Scientists living in the other half of our home gave me some inspiring thoughts that day. I slept well that night for the first time in three months. Proper digestion returned, and I began to eat normally. Soon I started attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, with my Christian Science friends and enrolled our two children in the Sunday School.

Within a few months after having Christian Science treatment, our son and I were completely healed and were living a normal life. Twenty-seven years have elapsed, and there has been no return of the ailments.

Membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church has given me much joy, satisfaction, and comfort. For the many testimonies which I have heard at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings and for those I have read in the periodicals, I shall never cease to be grateful.

My husband was healed of chronic alcoholism. He was also healed of lameness in one leg which was the result of an automobile accident.

I have learned that God is the great Physician, and when we trust Him and imbibe the spirit of the Christ, we feel His comforting love around us. An abscess on my wrist, an attack of grippe, a heart ailment, toothache, wounds, and a chronic cough have all been healed. An irritating cough that kept me awake all one night was quickly healed, and the following night

I also was healed of shingles as the result of consecrated prayer on the part of a practitioner, my own study of the Lesson-Sermons, and a greater understanding of God which the children and I gained because of our willingness to give up material remedies and rely wholly on God.

I am exceedingly grateful for the hymns in our Christian Science Hymnal. They are so pure and free from materialism. Two of the hymns which have brought much comfort and healing are "Christ My Refuge" by Mrs. Eddy (Poems, p. 12) and No. 121 in the Hymnal, the first line of which reads, "How blest are they whose hearts are pure." The beatitude which also helped in my spiritual progress is, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for the shall see God" (Matt. 5:8).

God is Truth, and Christian Science enables us to understand Truth. My gratitude for Christian Science and for the great good it is doing is unbounded.
