In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read (p. 66), "Trials are proofs of God's care." For the many proofs of God's care that I have had, I am grateful.

Christian Science has been the Comforter to me since early childhood when I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School. When I was thirteen years old I was riding my bicycle down the street one day, and an automobile suddenly came out of a side street to enter a driveway on the other side of me. When I saw that the automobile was about to hit me, I declared aloud, "God is the only power."

As a result of the impact I was unconscious for a short time. Upon regaining consciousness I was asked by the driver of the automobile if he could take me to a hospital. I said I was all right and proceeded to walk home, pushing the bicycle, which was badly twisted.

I was rather shaky upon reaching home, and I told my parents what had happened. While talking, I lapsed into unconsciousness. My parents immediately tried to arouse me to repeat aloud with them "the scientific statement of being" (see Science and Health, p. 468). Although I could not respond at first, I finally repeated it and stayed alert. I knew, as I had been taught in the Christian Science Sunday School, that there are no accidents in the divine Mind and no discord or inharmony in God, good.

That night my father carried me up to my bedroom, and the help of a Christian Science practitioner was requested. In the morning I was completely free. This is only one of many healings I have had in Christian Science.

During my college days the following two statements of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, were utilized frequently during examination periods and with regard to the choice of roommates and summer positions (ibid., p. 506): "Spirit, God, gathers unformed thoughts into their proper channels, and unfolds these thoughts, even as He opens the petals of a holy purpose in order that the purpose may appear," and (p. 90), "The admission to one's self that man is God's own likeness sets man free to master the infinite idea."

For the privilege of having been a member of a Christian Science organization in a nearby college, for the blessing of class instruction with the teacher who was the practitioner in the aforementioned healing, and for Mrs. Eddy's revelation of Truth to this age, I am indeed grateful.— (Miss) Doris Munroe Linnell, Boston, Massachusetts.
