Of Special Interest to College Students

A meeting to consider and further the mission of Christian Science organizations at colleges and universities, formed in accordance with Article XXIII, Section 8, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, is planned in Boston for September 3, 4, and 5, 1959.

Similar meetings were held in 1955 and 1957, and the fruitage has been very apparent. The hundreds of students who attended came from England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Scotland, Canada, and the United States. The 1959 meeting will consider how the activities of college and university organizations promote the moral and spiritual culture of the individual student; what Christian Science college organizations contribute to the spiritual enlightenment of the academic community and to the growth of the Church of Christ, Scientist; why organization activities are important in the development of world thinking.

The three-day gathering in The Mother Church will include a general workshop, panels and seminars devoted to specific topics, student papers and presentations, informal talks by administrative workers of The Mother Church and The Christian Science Publishing Society, sight-seeing visits to points of special interest.

Any student who is a member of The Mother Church and who is enrolled in a college or university during the academic year of 1958-1959 or who will be enrolled during the academic year of 1959-1960 is invited to attend. Also, members of The Mother Church who have faculty or instructor status in a college or university during either of the aforementioned academic years are eligible to be present . Organization advisors are welcome as observers.

Complete details regarding the September Meeting are being forwarded to the college organizations and to Christian Science college organization information committees in branch churches and societies. Inquiries may be addressed to the College Organization Division, Department of Branches and Practitioners, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts, U.S.A.

For the Annual Meeting

Send Reports of Progress Early

Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, established the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church as a time for listening to the reports of its officers and for general reports from the Field. At this time not only The Mother Church, but also each branch looks back over the past year rejoices in the many evidences of divine beneficence and guidance and in the experiences which have brought our movement forward to higher demonstration. An opportunity to share these good tidings is afforded at the Annual Meeting under the provisions of Article XIII, Section 1, of the Manual of The Mother Church by our Leader. While only a few representative reports can be read in the time allotted, it is helpful to hear from as many branch churches and societies as wish to report.

Letters and reports should be in the hands of The Christian Science Board of Directors not later than april 15 and as much earlier as possible.
