I have had many healings through the study and application of Christian Science, but my first physical healing has remained outstanding. About six weeks after my husband and I were married, his brother spent a day with us on his way to another city.

I was in bed with a severe case of tonsillitis. My brother-in-law sat down beside my bed and began talking to me. The conversation was necessarily one-sided, for it was very painful for me to speak. Soon he brought the conversation around to the topic of religion. It was a subject I was vitally interested in because I had been searching for many years for a religion that could explain God, man, and the universe to my satisfaction.

The first thing I noticed as my brother-in-law talked was that he spoke as one having authority. He not only understood what he was saying, but was sure of its being the truth. I became so interested that I got up and sat in a chair so that I could pay closer attention. I soon forgot about the sore throat and began asking questions.
