I first heard of Christian Science about forty years ago. At that time my aunt was confined to her bed with gangrene of the foot. I had been asked by her daughter to come to their home to help care for her, which I did immediately. After ten days the doctor said the only thing left for him to do was to amputate the affected leg. The family refused to allow this. They decided to try Christian Science and called a practitioner.

My aunt did not have the amputation. She was healed and out of bed in a very short time and began to attend services in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. She lived for quite a number of years thereafter.

This healing impressed me very much. Two years later, during the influenza epidemic, I manifested the symptoms of influenza while at work. When I arrived home my cousin asked me which I wanted, a practitioner or a doctor. I asked her to call a practitioner. Upon the arrival of the practitioner, I shall never forget the assurance I felt that all would be well. I was up within a week and returned to my work perfectly free.
