TWO REQUIREMENTS

Christ Jesus assured his followers (John 8:31, 32), "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." In this statement of the Master, we find indicated two requirements which need to be made fulfilled in order that we may made free from error; namely, to continue in the word and to know, or realize, the truth.

The student continues in the word as he is active and faithful in his study of Christian Science, and as he knows or applies consistently in the daily round the truths learned from this study, he is made free from discordant, erroneous beliefs.

Should one believe that his busy life makes careful, systematic study of Christian Science impractical, he can be assured that as he puts first things first and allows sufficient time daily for such study, he will be rewarded with a more satisfying sense of existence and will find his work performed without laborious effort and with better results.
