Though I had been reared in a Christian home, it wasn't until I began the earnest study of Christian Science that I learned how farreaching prayer really is. As a child had been enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School; but I remained only for a short time, because a relative objected to its teachings. However, the seed had been sown. When I reached the age at which I was permitted to make my own decisions, I chose Christian Science as my religion; and for more than thirty-six years, I have relied on it for healing.

In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy makes this statement (p. 369): "The prophylactic and therapeutic (that is, the preventive and curative) arts belong emphatically to Christian Science, as would be readily seen, if psychology, or the Science of Spirit, God, was understood." This important fact was proven to me many times when our children were small. Though symptoms of so-called children's diseases appeared, these evidences always quickly vanished and the children were never ill for any length of time.
